TRI-CULTURAL LITERATURE IN THE MEDIEVAL IBERIAN PENINSULA:

A CONFERENCE IN MEMORY OF AMERICO CASTRO

May 2-3, 2003

This international conference brings together scholars to examine the rich legacy of Hispano-Romance literatures which were produced in the Iberian Peninsula, in both Andalusia and the Christian kingdoms of the North. The conference focuses on the centuries during which the area, which is now Spain and Portugal, was a locus of interacting cultures and languages, including Arabic, Hebrew and Spanish. Cosponsored by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, with support from the Humanities Center/U.C. Irvine.
