The Friends of CSAS Fund has the potential to dramatically strengthen
CSAS by supporting events and research not covered by our federal National
Resource Center grant. We hope to create a $2 million endowment to meet
the following needs, beginning with financial support for students:
• Funding student summer research projects in South Asia
• Providing scholarships to students from South Asia to attend graduate
programs at UC Berkeley
• Convening conferences that examine current topics in South Asia
studies and that are open to the public
• Hosting performances and speakers of interest to the wider Bay
Area community
To demonstrate our thanks for your generosity, all donors will have the
opportunity to receive our bi-annual newsletter and monthly email events
updates. Donors at the following levels will also be listed in our newsletter
and on this website:
• Supporter: $50 to $99
• Partner: $100-$499
• Sponsor: $500-$999
• Benefactor: $1000 and up
We also welcome major gifts that permanently endow student summer research
grants or annual lectures.
Making a Donation
You can send a check payable to UC Berkeley Foundation directly to our
address. Please specify that your gift should be directed towards
the Friends of South Asia Fund. To discuss your gift or for matching gifts,
gifts of stock, planned gifts, and all other giving arrangements, please
contact the Vice Chair of CSAS, Dr. Daisy Rockwell.
